Two Words About Applying for Prevention Network Grant
BE ENCOURAGED!
FIRST: Our entire program is
organized to offer assistance at every step of the way.
You are required to contact us before applying. This is so you can be sure you are on the right track.
We will work with you during any phase of project planning or applying for a grant - by phone, e-mail, or coming to your community.
We are available to do local workshops about applying for grants and planning prevention. Arrange a time and place - we will be there!
SECOND: Our grants are intended as a learning process.
Grants are not rewards for people who already know everything and do perfect prevention. They are meant as well to help a group get started to stumble and learn along the way.
They are a sort of invitation to work together. You get money to support your work. We get to offer you advise and assistance. Together we help provide effective prevention in Michigan.
THIRD: There is really nothing new in the grant application.
It walks you through steps long recognized as necessary for effective prevention. The new application describes them more clearly.
It is required that interested applicants contact a program staff person at
Prevention Network before applying. This is to assure the group applying and the
proposed project are eligible for funding. Grant applications provide
further information and can be requested
by
calling 800/968-4968.
Grants are awarded ONLY to local community groups in Michigan, and ONLY for
activity taking place locally within Michigan
